Building site dangers warning

2 August, 2017

With school holidays in full flow, parents are reminded to ensure their children stay away from building sites – including those in Aylesham.

New homes are under construction on the Garden Village development throughout the year and work at the primary school in Dorman Avenue North to take down old classrooms is taking place at the moment.

Young children have been spotted climbing on the roofs of the old classrooms and ‘ripping off guttering’, according to school business manager Tanya Neil writing on the Aylesham group Facebook page this week.

She said: “The site is a dangerous place to be at the moment. Coupled with the obvious health and safety issues surrounding old buildings, we have serious concerns that someone could be hurt if it continues. We ask villagers to please keep their children away from the school site.”
