Busy August for Aylesham carnival court

13 August, 2019

Aylesham Carnival Association is thrilled to announce its chosen charity is Bechange Community Hub – and the court recently visited the team to announce the news.

The association continues to be bowled over by the queens and princesses of this year’s court. Since the last update the girls have continued to be positive ambassadors for the village.

Aylesham was named winner of both Court of the Day and Junior Court titles at Teynham carnival – well done girls! Minster show (in Thanet) awarded them Court of the Day and second prize for the princesses.

Hardly stopping to catch their breaths, they were on to Deal’s carnival where they were awarded first prize for the Junior Court princess pairs, second for best Visiting Court float, and second place in the Van Lommeren trophy.

In Ramsgate there was more success where the girls were awarded second place for both Junior Princess Pairs and for Queen’s float as well as third placings for Queen’s tableau and Senior Court of the Day.

Needless to say the girls are enjoying taking part in all the events and seeing their carnival friends from the other courts and it is inspiring for them to be placed so well in recognition of their hard work, responsibility and commitment. We thank them and wish them well in their forthcoming events.

Don’t forget to look out for posters promoting Aylesham’s own carnival in the village on Saturday 21 September. We will be announcing more details very soon!
