Festive crafty times at coffee shop

25 November, 2019

A crafty day of seeing, selling and even hunting decorations is being arranged in the village during the run up to Christmas by Aylesham coffee shop owner Adina Plews.

Youngsters and the young at heart can be up bright and early on Sunday 1 December to hunt for Christmas decorations carefully hidden along Dorman Avenue North and Market Place. A token will be given for each one found and these in turn can be exchanged on the day for a gift donated by a local business, said Adina, who runs Jam and Roses in Cornwallis Avenue.

From 1pm, there will be a host of local arts and crafters selling Christmas gifts at Jam and Roses through the afternoon. There will be hot chocolate drinks, mince pies, a children’s tombola and other treats to enjoy as well.

Adina said: “I realised a little while ago there are several very skilled arts and crafters in the village, all making amazing gifts and decorations in their spare time. I was very lucky to meet some of them and see the passion they have right there!

“It was an easy decision then to organise a Christmas craft event and the fact the tables were booked so fast confirmed that it would be a great idea. They will be offering things that aren’t available in high street shops, which is something I always look for.”
