Did your family move to Aylesham before the Second World War? Would you like your family traced back possibly as far as the early Victorian era?
If you can answer yes to these questions, then the Deal and District branch of the Kent Family History Society would be glad to hear from you.
It is gathering information about Aylesham ahead of building a display about Kent mining families for later this year.
The group has chosen 1939 as a start point because it can use that year’s population register, it says, and names should then appear on other genealogical records for further research, possibly going back as far as 1840 – just three years after Queen Victoria came to the throne.
You can contact the Deal branch of KFHS by emailing email@example.com by Thursday 1 June.
