Reckless rider rapped by police

2 August, 2017

Local police have issued a ‘Section 59’ warning to the driver/rider of a nuisance vehicle following complaints about off road motorbikes being ridden recklessly and noisily around Aylesham.

The warning was issued after officers saw a vehicle being driven without due care and attention in the centre of the village a few days ago.

Aylesham PCSO Emma Carmichael said: “I have received many complaints about noisy off road motorbikes in the village and serving this warning is part of ongoing work which will see officers pursuing the minority who seek to spoil the quality of life for the majority.”

*Under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002, the vehicle owner is liable to have his car or motorbike seized and crushed if he, or someone else driving/riding it, is caught for a second time within 12 months.
