Road to close for resurfacing

27 February, 2019

Kent County Council will close Aylesham’s Ackholt Road for two days next week while it carries out resurfacing work.

The road between Spinney Lane and Ratling Road junctions will be closed for two days on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 March and the work will be undertaken between 7am and 7pm.

This could adversely affect traffic around school drop off and collection times at St Joseph’s School and might affect access to the railway station car park, the Workshop Trust site and neighbouring business park. Please allow additional time when travelling.

KCC says this type of work can be affected by bad weather, so if it is not possible to carry it out at it will arrange a new date and let residents know via a letter drop to homes. It will also put up signs along the road, before it starts, showing the start date.

During these essential works it will be necessary to close the road completely and a diversion route will be via Spinney Lane, Dorman Avenue South, Market Place, Dorman Avenue North, Cornwallis Avenue and Ratling Road.
