Rugby club to hold fun day and sevens tournament

13 April, 2018

Snowdown Colliery Rugby Club is planning a family fun day combined with a men’s sevens tournament at the end of May.

It wants to showcase what the club has to offer to both established and recently arrived residents in Aylesham as well as help highlight the facilities at the Welfare & Leisure Centre, off Spinney Lane.

Saturday 26 May will see a hog roast, food stalls, and refreshments set up in the welfare grounds, while a marquee will provide a registration and St John Ambulance first aid support area for the rugby sevens. Referees from Kent RFU will officiate the tournament which is open to all comers.

The rugby club is hoping it will be able to recruit some new players through the occasion in time to be able to start the new season later this year in the rural leagues of Kent Premier East Two.

Local businesses are invited to help support the occasion – any offers of sponsorship can be made to the event’s coordinator Patrick Broadhurst via
