Still time to have your say on proposed ward boundary changes

31 July, 2018

Residents in the Dover District Council area still have time to comment on draft recommendations for the electoral review of the area.

Anybody who wishes to comment has until Monday 13 August to respond to the independent Local Government Boundary Commission for England (LGBCE) which has drawn up these proposals:

LGBCE proposals

  • DDC should be represented by 32 councillors, 13 fewer than there are now
  • DDC should have 18 wards, three fewer than there are now
  • The boundaries of 16 wards should change, two will stay the same.

The LGBCE plans to publish its recommendations in early October. If the scheme goes ahead, the Aylesham ward would expand to include Eythorne and be represented by three councillors.
