Vacancy on Aylesham Parish Council

Aylesham Parish Council has a vacancy and seeks to fill the voluntary post by co-option.

Written expressions of interest from anyone who wishes to serve must be sent to the parish council clerk by Friday 28 June.

Those applying must meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • They are registered as a local government elector for the parish area
  • During the whole of the preceding 12 months, occupied as either owner or tenant, any land or premises in the parish council area
  • Their principal or only place of work during the preceding 12 months has been in the parish
  • They have during the whole of the preceding 12 months lived in the parish area or within 4.8kms of it.

All applicants must be 18 years or older on the day they were nominated for election.

The work of a parish councillor is unpaid and will include attending meetings held in the daytime and evenings.
