Don’t forget, our full list of regular events happening in the village can be seen on their own page at the Aylesham Garden Village website,  Weekly mother & baby, parent & toddler groups – which have now resumed after the summer holidays –  are included along with youth club and library activities

Wednesday 11 October 1pm-2.30pm – Bechange, Ackholt Road. Little Green Fingers Gang aims to enable small children to explore the charity’s community garden and learn about the environment through play and fun activities. The club costs £1 for the first child and 50p for every sibling. Free refreshments will be provided. Please dress for the weather! If it is bad, then activities will move indoors, Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Wednesday 11 October 7pm – Aylesham Heritage Centre, The White House, Dorman Avenue South. The Heritage Centre holds its annual general meeting when it will elect officers and consider its finances and project proposals.

Wednesday 11 October 7-8pm – Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre, Spinney Lane. Snowdown Colliery RFC training session. New players welcome. Thursday 12 October 7pm- 8.30pm – Bechange Community Hub, Aylesham Project, Ackholt Road. Initial meeting to form new Beavers and Cubs groups in Aylesham. This meeting is for prospective adult volunteer helpers who are interested in helping to run the groups. There will be an optional supervised crèche activity for children of prospective helpers watching ‘The Incredibles’ DVD with popcorn on the projector screen in the main hall. Provided there is sufficient interest, it is hoped the Beavers group will be able to meet for the first time in early November and Cubs in December after adults have received support and training with other Scouts group leaders. Thursday 12 October 7pm – Aylesham Parish Council holds its monthly meeting at the White House office in Dorman Avenue South. Residents are welcome to attend. Anybody wishing to speak about an agenda item is asked to first contact the parish office on 01304 840377 or email via

Friday 13 October 10am-12pm – Bechange, Aylesham Project, Ackholt Road. Benefits and housing advice drop in session. These are held twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays to offer advice about benefit entitlements, bidding for social housing and help completing forms. The sessions include health advice from an NHS advisor. Simply turn up on the day.

Saturday 14 October 12pm-2pm – Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre, Spinney Lane. Children’s Soccer Saturdays for kids under 16. Bring your mates and have a kick about on the 3G pitch. Price £2 each. More information from the centre on 01304 840661.

Monday 16 October 10am – Aylesham Baptist Church, Dorman Avenue South. Mental Health Fight Club. A place to find friendship and support while enjoying free activities that promote positive mental health. Weekly meeting led by Laura Moncaster.

Monday 16 October 7pm-8pm – Freddie’s Field, between Burgess Road and railway station, Beyond Limits Boot camp for the village. Fitness sessions for adults and children. More information about ticket prices available from the leisure centre.

Monday 16 October 7-8pm – Aylesham Community Project , Ackholt Road. High Intensity Interval Training with BH Dance. £5 on the door, no booking required and second class is free. HIIT workouts are based around the love of dance. The class is for all fitness levels and uses the latest functional training methods to get fast results. BH Dance with Abi is non-judgemental and supportive.

Tuesday 17 October – Aylesham Baptist Church, Dorman Avenue South. Youth club meetings led by Pie Factory Music in three sessions according to age group. 5-6.30pm – Junior session for children in school years four to seven. Activities include art and craft, music, games and table tennis. 7pm to 9pm – Senior session for young people in years eight to 13. Arts and crafts, music, games, table tennis, guidance and support. Tuesday 17 October 7-8pm – Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre, Spinney Lane. High Intensity Interval Training with BH Dance. Call to book, free for leisure centre members and £5 for non-members.

Wednesday 18 October 10.30am-12.30pm – Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre, Spinney Lane. Walking football session for over 50s. Non competitive, non contact football and work out.

Wednesday 18 October 10am – 12pm – St Peters Church, Dorman Avenue North, weekly arts & crafts group meeting. Cups of tea, a chance to chat as well as enjoy either painting, drawing, knitting or sewing. No experience needed, please just turn up and meet the friendly group, everyone welcome.

Sunday 15 October 11am-12pm – Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre, Baptist Minister Laura Moncaster takes church to the 3G outdoor pitches for a free sport session aimed at 4-11 year olds. Consent forms will be available for signing on the day. There will be a short half time talk on sport and faith. This event will also be held on Sunday 26 November.

Tuesday 17 October 2pm-3pm – Aylesham Parish Council offices, Dorman Avenue South. Village PCSO Emma Carmichael hosts a drop in session for residents who wish to talk about crime and policing related issues.

Saturday 21 October 10am – On the third Saturday of every month 10am to 12pm – Aylesham Baptist Church, Dorman Avenue North, coffee morning with home made cakes and a bits & bobs stall. All welcome. More information from 01304 840947 or visit

Friday 27 October 10am-12pm – Aylesham Parish Council offices, The White House, Dorman Avenue South. Monthly drop in surgery session with members of the parish council and Dover district ward councillors who will be available to discuss any local issues with residents.

Saturday 28 October 7pm onwards. The Ratling Club, Ratling Road. Halloween fancy dress fundraiser in aid of Sands charity and first responder. Tickets £5 each, call Michelle on 07807084059 or Louisa on 07794972731.

Tuesday 31 October 2pm-4pm – On the last Tuesday of every month. Tuesday Teas at St Finbarr’s Church, Market Place. A full tea for £1.50 and 50p for children. Sandwiches, cakes and as much tea or coffee as you can manage. All are welcome and there is a free raffle too.
