Wednesday 12 July 1pm-2.30pm – Bechange, Ackholt Road. Little Green Fingers Club aims to enable small children to explore the charity’s community garden and learn about the environment through play and fun activities. The club costs £1 for the first child and 50p for every sibling. Free refreshments will be provided. Please dress for the weather! If it is bad, then activities will move indoors. Children must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

Wednesday 12 July 7pm-8pm – Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre, non contact rugby for boys and girls aged 11 years or more. Organised by Snowdown CW Rugby Club, no experience is needed and all equipment will be provided, just bring a bottle of water to drink. Admission charge applies. These weekly sessions are a result of new support from Premiership rugby club Harlequins.

Thursday 13 July 5-6pm and 6-7pm – Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre, Spinney Lane. Pie Factory Music youth team hosts free summer sports sessions for children and young adults every Thursday evening until Thursday 31 August. Session one, held 5-6pm, is for eight to 12 year olds and session two is for 13-19 year olds between 6-7pm.

Friday 14 July 10am-12pm – Bechange, Aylesham Project, Ackholt Road. Benefits and housing advice drop in session. These are held twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays to offer advice about benefit entitlements, bidding for social housing and help completing forms. The sessions include health advice from an NHS advisor. Simply turn up on the day.

Friday 14 July 1pm-2pm – Bechange, Aylesham Project Centre, Ackholt Road. Story time signing class. Classes run in six week terms and cost £35 per term. Saturday 15 July 12pm-2pm – Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre, Spinney Lane. Children’s Soccer Saturdays for kids under 16. Bring your mates and have a kick about on the 3G pitch. Price £2 each. More information from the centre on 01304 840661.

Monday 17 July 7pm-8pm – Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre, Spinney Lane, Beyond Limits Boot camp for the village. Fitness sessions for adults and children. More information about ticket prices available from the leisure centre.

Monday 17 July 7-8pm – Aylesham Community Project , Ackholt Road. High Intensity Interval Training with BH Dance. £5 on the door, no booking required and second class is free. HIIT workouts are based around the love of dance. The class is for all fitness levels and uses the latest functional training methods to get fast results. BH Dance with Abi is non-judgemental and supportive.

Tuesday 18 July 10am – 1pm – Bechange, Aylesham Project, Ackholt Road CT3 3AJ. Free health MOTs for all. Health trainer Lizzie will be available to offer NHS checks designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes and dementia. The check includes questions about family history, height and weight, blood pressure and a cholesterol test. Adults of all ages can have a health check, with adults aged 40-74 also able to have a cholesterol check.

Tuesday 18 July – Aylesham Baptist Church, Dorman Avenue South. Youth club meetings led by Pie Factory Music in three sessions according to age group. 5-6.30pm – Junior session for children in school years four to seven. Activities include art and craft, music, games and table tennis. 6.30pm to 7pm – Training and development session for school years eight to 13. The emphasis is on training to be a volunteer, achieve awards, update CVs and improve employability. 7pm to 9pm – Senior session for young people in years eight to 13. Tuesday 18 July 7-8pm – Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre, Spinney Lane. High Intensity Interval Training with BH Dance. Call to book, free for leisure centre members and £5 for non-members.

Wednesday 19 July 10.30am-12.30pm – Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre, Spinney Lane. Walking football session for over 50s. Non competitive, non contact football and work out.

Wednesday 19 July 10am – 12pm – St Peters Church, Dorman Avenue North, weekly arts & crafts group meeting. Cups of tea, a chance to chat as well as enjoy either painting, drawing, knitting or sewing. No experience needed, please just turn up and meet the friendly group, everyone welcome.

Tuesday 1 August 10am – 12pm – Bechange, Aylesham Project, Ackholt Road CT3 3AJ. Information open morning. Come and meet the youth, wellbeing, employability, housing, family and children’s services at this free event. There will also be fun some activities for children to enjoy! Organisations attending include Porchlight, Dover District Council, the NHS, Prince’s Trust, JobCentre Plus, Carers’ Support, HomeStart, Southern Housing and Royal British Legion Industries.

Thursday 10 August 7pm – Aylesham Parish Council holds its monthly meeting at the White House office in Dorman Avenue South. Residents are welcome to attend. Monday 7 – Friday 11 August, 9am to 3.30pm – Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre, Spinney Lane. Beyond Limits hosts a kids’ summer academy. Activities will include sports, boot camps and team building exercises. Cost will be £10 per day or £40 for the week. Register interest now via 07736 353446 or email beyondlimitskent@outlook.com.

Saturday 23 September – Put this date in your diaries now! Aylesham Carnival will be held on this day. More details to follow nearer the time.

Among the regular events held in Aylesham are dance classes organised by KCs Dancers. The school is active six days a week. You can view its website for times, venues and prices here.

  • Fridays – Baptist Church, between 9am and 11am
  • Fridays 9.45am – Aylesham Library, Ackholt Road (on Aylesham Project site) holds Big Talk Small Play for parents, carers and pre-school children. Volunteers needed to help, please! Contact Lynne Steward at the library on 03000 413131 if you can help.
